How did I start

What I do

My Role: Lead Designer and 3D Modeler. I was responsible for researching 3D user behavior, creating the wireframes for the VR interface, and modeling 3D assets to align with the brand’s high standards.

My Process:
- Research: Analyzed how users interact with 3D stimuli and teleportation mechanics.
- Design & Iterate: Developed a simple, easy-to-interact interface and refined it based on testing feedback.
- Collaboration: Worked closely with developers to ensure the 3D models were optimized for mobile performance without losing realism.

Our research
The Problem

The team had to produce realistic 3D textures under a tight deadline while ensuring the application remained lightweight enough to run on mobile devices without crashing. We also faced the challenge of translating standard 2D screen interactions into an intuitive 3D user experience.

1

The Solution

We implemented a teleportation-based navigation system and a streamlined controller menu based on in-depth research of how the human eye tracks 3D stimuli. These optimizations reduced the environment's technical weight, ensuring a smooth, high-performance experience for the user.

2

What I found

The design process

The process focused on creating a simple and interactive 3D interface. We prioritized a "3D overview" feature that allows users to swap materials and view detailed product information while the app calculates build costs in real-time. Extensive research was conducted to ensure users could move around the virtual house with ease and without confusion.

The final design

The final VR experience provides customers with a transparent look at the pros and cons of various materials, showing exactly how colors and textures will look once applied. This immersive tool significantly reduces the time first-time buyers spend on research, helping them choose materials that fit both their aesthetic needs and their budget.
