This project focuses on creating an attractive and interactive booth experience for Humber College to introduce its various academic programs to potential students and their families. By combining digital information systems with Augmented Reality (AR), the experience transforms traditional recruitment into an immersive journey that highlights career paths and industry trends.

How did I start
What I do
My Role: I was a lead designer responsible for research, wireframe creation, high-fidelity design, and prototyping to ensure the digital experience aligned with the project's engagement goals.
My Process: I conducted thorough user research and persona development, mapped out the visitor journey, and iterated on the design system based on feedback and performance testing.

The Problem
The previous booth suffered from excessive congestion and long waiting lines for a short mini-game, leaving many visitors disengaged while waiting. The college also needed a more informative way to leverage new technology to attract both students and parents simultaneously in a high-traffic environment.
1
The Solution
We implemented a multi-stage booth experience where visitors use AR on their own devices to explore career paths while waiting in line, turning idle time into an interactive learning opportunity. This is complemented by a 3D scanning area and high-fidelity interactive screens that provide deep dives into the application and study process.
2
What I found
The design process
The design process was driven by a detailed visitor journey map that divided the booth into three distinct stages: a reception area for QR-enabled brochures, a middle section for 3D environment scanning, and a final wall section with interactive screens. We focused heavily on "content customization," ensuring that the information presented via AR was digestible and engaging without overwhelming the user. Multiple versions of wireframes and prototypes were tested to find the optimal balance of information, allowing visitors to start their exploration in line and finish it at the main interactive stations.

The final design
The final result is a cohesive, immersive ecosystem that extends the brand experience beyond the physical event. By integrating AR into take-home brochures via QR codes, visitors can relive the 3D experience at home, ensuring that Humber College remains top-of-mind long after the event concludes.
